Chris recorded a number of bands at the legendary 'Surrey Sounds', a studio that his brother, Nigel, established in the mid 70s. While Nigel recorded The Police during the day, Chris turned up with The Homosexuals and recorded through the night. He was involved with all their releases on the Black Noise and Lorelei labels (later brought together for their eponymous LP on C. Cutler's Recommended label). Chris also worked on all of the numerous side projects that sprang from The Homosexuals. These included L. Voag's self released 'The Way Out' LP and 'Move' single as well as all the other releases on the 'It's

War Boys' label. These included records (and cassettes) by Nancy Sesay And The Melodaires, Sir Alick & the Phraser, George Harrasment, Amos & Sara and The Just Measurers as well as The Tesco Bombers one and only single on Y Records ('Astral Glamour', a triple CD released by Messthetics, brings together all of The Homosexuals work). Chris also produced and engineered other records at the time, most notably, Alternative TV's debut, 'The Image Has Cracked', This Heat's follow up LP 'Deceit' and their 'Health and Efficiency' 12" single. He has also worked with The Police, Marvin Gaye & The Boomtown Rats.
